Portugal Faces Heatwave with Temperatures Surpassing 40°C This Week

The IPMA has issued a yellow alert for central and southern inland districts of Portugal as temperatures are expected to soar this week, reaching up to 43°C.

Starting Monday, central and southern inland districts of Portugal will be under a yellow alert due to rising temperatures. This alert will extend to Trás-os-Montes on Tuesday and cover the rest of mainland Portugal by Wednesday.

The forecast indicates that by the end of the week, temperatures could climb as high as 43°C in regions such as the Tagus valley and Alentejo.

Residents are advised to take precautions during this heatwave, as tropical nights may also be expected throughout the affected areas.
